World Cup-winning captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni believes India limited amounts tour in Sri Lanka will help his team prepare for the Twenty20 world in one country in September and October.
"Most of the players who will play in the World Twenty20 in this aspect so that it will help us," said Denis on the eve of team's departure from his country. "Sri Lanka is not a place new to us, and during the past five years we went there every year, if not twice a year. There are conditions not much different to India."
India to play 5 one dayers and Twenty20 game in Sri Lanka Saturday to Aug. 7.
India hosts the then New Zealand for two trials and two Twenty20 before the World Twenty20 will be held from 18 September and October 7.
Denis said it is important to start the season well and that his players again after a break of seven weeks after the Indian Premier League, which ended on May 27.
"We will be playing in different places in Sri Lanka. It is important that we can, it's the start of the season and we want to start on a good note," said the captain, who led India to victory in the inaugural Twenty20 world in 2007 as well as the World Cup 50 and ended in 2011.
Denis also said that the team was looking forward to tour Pakistan proposed to India in December and January for three one dayers and two Twenty20.
"We will be prepared for it, although the dates are not yet out. Name of our country is at stake. And professional cricketers expect us to win, especially if it is against Pakistan," he said of the series proposed that would revive the bilateral cricket after five years.
Said Denis asked how important the captain's armband in the game of cricket, the player making the team.
